Hello all,
i wrote this script a while back when i worked as a lighting Lead for my team to quickly create render layers required for comp with automatic overrides for the render passes output for comp.
the goal was to always maintain the naming conventions for render output across the lighting team, can get any new artist or juniors running with the tool right away, creating the necessary render passes corresponding with each layer, including beauty, misc, shadow, volume render layers, creating the required shaders with overrides for the different render layers and render passes to maintain the displacement and normal shading details, that way the comp artist will have the same output from all artists regarding render layers, naming and the render passes required.
####################################FUNCTIONS######################################################
- Beauty: creates a beauty render layers associated with the AOVS required to assemble the beauty in any comp software with overrides
- Misc: creates a miscellaneous render layers with the AOVS and shaders required for the tech passes in comp, including AO, N, Z, P, Stmap, Crypto with overrides, getting all the displacement and normal details in all AOVs
- Shadow: creates a shadow shader and override all shading groups in the scene and creating ao AOV, also all with layer overrides, getting all the displacement and normal details in all AOVs
- Volumetric: creates a matte shader and connect it to all the shading groups in the scene with overrides
- AO: overrides all the shading groups in the scene with an ambient occ shader
